What to Expect

Ala-Archa

Ala-Archa National Park is one of the favorite recreational spots for locals and visitors of Bishkek. Located just 40 km from the capital, it combines accessibility with true mountain wilderness: rushing rivers, coniferous forests, glaciers, and majestic Tien Shan peaks await you just an hour from the city. The park is named after the ala-archa shrub (a multicolored juniper), used in Kyrgyz tradition as a talisman against evil spirits.

The park offers trails for all preferences: from easy valley walks to challenging hikes to the Ak-Sai waterfall or Mount Uchitel. You can have a picnic, spot marmots and mountain goats, breathe the purest air, and enjoy the quiet interrupted only by water and wind rustling through the fir trees.

Ala-Archa is beautiful year-round: green slopes and flower meadows in spring, coolness among the stones in summer, golden leaves in autumn, and snow-covered paths in winter. It’s the perfect spot to escape the city for a day and feel connected to nature.

Supara Ethno Complex

The Supara Ethno Complex is a unique place where you can touch the spirit of ancient nomadic life without leaving the outskirts of Bishkek. Nestled in a scenic gorge near the capital, the complex recreates the atmosphere of a traditional Kyrgyz village with yurts, wooden bridges, streams, and folk architecture. Everything — from carved gates to traditional dishes — immerses you in authenticity.

Visitors can enjoy traditional Kyrgyz food like beshbarmak, kurut, and boorsok, take part in rituals, hear live komuz music, and try on national costumes. The complex also offers workshops, performances, and demonstrations for tourists — including falconry and traditional Kyrgyz games.

Supara is perfect for family outings, festive events, or corporate gatherings in an ethno-style setting. Time slows down here as nature, culture, and hospitality blend into a vivid story of Kyrgyz heritage that stays in your memory.

Chunkurchak Gorge

Chunkurchak Gorge is one of the most accessible and picturesque mountain getaways just 30 kilometers from Bishkek. This narrow valley, surrounded by cliffs and pine forests, is especially popular with those who seek solitude, fresh air, and mountain landscapes. The only sounds here are a mountain stream and birdsong.

In winter, Chunkurchak becomes a cozy ski resort with slopes for beginners and families. In the warmer months, it's ideal for hiking, photo shoots, picnics, and easy walks. On clear days, the hills offer panoramic views of the snow-capped Ala-Too peaks. The air here is crystal-clear and invigorating.

There are cafés, hotels, and even glamping yurts on site for those who want to stay overnight and wake up to the wind rustling in the fir branches. Chunkurchak is the perfect quick escape from the city to recharge, relax, and reconnect with nature.

Sky Bridge

The Sky Bridge is one of Kyrgyzstan’s most breathtaking landmarks, located in the mountains near Chunkurchak Gorge. It’s a suspension bridge at over 3,000 meters above sea level, stretched between cliffs with dizzying views of the surrounding ridges and valleys. Walking across it is a true adventure: underfoot is a transparent mesh and hundreds of meters of open space, with the vast Tien Shan all around you.

This spot is perfect for adrenaline seekers, stunning photography, and unforgettable memories. It’s especially magical at sunset, when the peaks glow in golden and pink hues. In good weather, you can see snow-capped summits and alpine meadows — making this walk not only extreme, but incredibly scenic too.
